Experiencing homelessness escorts unwarranted prejudices which have been ingrained in society via biased media portrayals and negative individualistic stereotypes, all of which have become one of the greatest hindrances in the fight to end homelessness across the United States. Demeaning policies and negative stereotypes have created a deeply misguided understanding of what it means to be homeless – rejecting the complexity, personal challenges, and humanity which embodies people experiencing homelessness.
