The nation-wide epidemic of homelessness in the United States is a human rights crisis that goes against the fundamental rights of an individual. Recognized as a basic human right under international law, the right to housing is one that must be met and provided by the government for the safety and well-being of its citizens. The use of international standards and a human rights framework on a national level can further advance the solutions to ending the housing crisis confronted by our most vulnerable.
